One of the most meaningful moments after the release was having the Eulogy for the Stripes cover custom-framed and hung in my office. A local framer helped turn the artwork into something that feels permanent, and it now sits behind me where it can be seen during podcast appearances and interviews. For years, this story lived in notes, drafts, conversations, and late-night revisions. Seeing it on the wall is a quiet reminder that the work has entered a new stage.
A book’s release date marks when it enters the world, but it doesn’t determine how long it remains there.
That depends on whether readers discover it, connect with it, and choose to share it with others.
As Eulogy for the Stripes moves beyond its first few weeks in print, my focus is shifting from launch preparations to the ongoing work of helping the novel find its audience. That includes outreach, conversations, events, reviews, word of mouth, and continuing to build the world around the story while I start looking ahead to what’s next.
If Eulogy for the Stripes reaches you and resonates with you, the most powerful thing you can do is help another reader discover it.
A review on Amazon or Goodreads can make a meaningful difference. So can recommending the book to a friend, mentioning it to a book club, sharing your experience with someone who might connect with the story, or asking your local librarian to consider adding it to the collection.
If you have questions about the novel, the world behind it, its themes, the soundtrack, the writing process, or upcoming appearances, I would also love to hear from you. Reader conversations are one of the best parts of this stage, and they help shape how I talk about the book moving forward.
There are also several events coming up.
In the next few weeks, I have a book signing at Barnes & Noble, an appearance on a thriller podcast, a workshop at the public library discussing my publishing journey, and another bookstore signing at The Peddler’s Pack Book Co. in Tomball, Texas. There are also behind-the-scenes discussions planned for additional podcast appearances and future events.
I will keep the “Appearances” page updated as new details are confirmed. You can also check the news crawl in the website header for upcoming events.
As I continue securing more appearances and outreach opportunities, I will shift the newsletter and Transmissions posts from a weekly schedule to a single comprehensive article each month.
That change comes after 29 straight weeks of disciplined posting since the blog started. I am proud of that consistency, but the next stage requires a different rhythm. Monthly articles will allow me to spend more time on outreach for Eulogy for the Stripes, continued work on the second novel, and my professional responsibilities, while still sharing behind-the-scenes insights and reflections on current events.
The work after release differs from the work before.
Before the release, the goal was to prepare the book, the website, the materials, and the world around the story. After the release, the aim is to keep the book moving; one reader, one conversation, one event, and one recommendation at a time.
Word of mouth is how books like this survive, especially after the excitement of release week has faded.
Thank you for reading, sharing this journey, asking questions, leaving reviews, recommending the book, and helping this story travel farther than I could carry it alone.
